It monitors and delivers technical advice on human rights to governments, international bodies, national institutions, and influential corporations.
Job summary:
ImpACT International would like to announce a new vacant position in the capacity of “Principal Labour Rights Researcher”, to help the organisation meet a multitude of objectives regarding research, advocacy, and awareness raising. The Principal Researcher will oversee the work of researchers and research assistants, collect testimony and draft reports and studies.
Qualifications
Required
Thorough understanding of labour rights and responsibilities as well as human rights research.
Education: An advanced (graduate) degree in human rights, international relations, international law, or any related studies is required.
Experience: Minimum five years of relevant experience in the field of labour rights and human rights research and documentation are required.
Skills
- Excellent English written and speaking skills.
- Excellent research skills.
- Background knowledge of labour rights, international humanitarian law, human rights, and the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights.
- Producing and delivering quality results.
Languages
Expert knowledge of English (fluency in writing and speaking).
Description of duties
- Research human rights violations related to policies of states and businesses, and draft researches, press releases, reports, or articles.
- Identify and highlight key labour rights and human rights trends and emerging issues, and analyse abuses within the broader political, social, and economic context.
- Write and publicize reports, briefing papers, letters, news releases, op-eds, and submissions to international bodies based on the findings.
- Deliver outputs in a timely manner and maintain consistency with the agreed strategy and priorities of the organisation.
Location
London - United Kingdom (where the organisation’s headquarters is) or any other country (remotely).
